Bovisand bay is the nearest beach, about a 15-minute walk down the hill
(about 20 minutes back up!) Here you will find rockpools to entertain
the children.
Situated on the S.W. Coastal Footpath we are an ideal location for walkers.
There are numerous footpaths and Cliff Walks in the area, many with magnificent
views of Plymouth Sound and the Cornish Coast.
A great day out is a trip into Plymouth by Water Taxi. You can park your car for free
at the Mountbatten Centre and catch the Mountbatten Water Taxi across to the Barbican.(£1.50 each way)
The Barbican with its cobbled streets and antique shops is a great area to browse around.
With numerous open air cafes it's a great place to sit and watch the world go by.
From here it is only a 5 minute walk up to the Hoe where Sir Francis Drake played his
famous game of bowls.
For the shoppers it is only a short walk to the new Drake Circus Shopping Mall.
Within a couple of miles there is a Golf course at Staddon Heights
as well as Riding stables 2 miles away at Wembury.
Dartmoor and quaint Cornish fishing villages are only a short drive away,
with The Eden Project within one and a half hours.
Not to mention free use of the magnificent indoor heated swiming pool
at Bovisand Lodge between March and October.
